Click & Haul, and what it costs

Thornton is one of the few metro cities running its own bulky collection, and it is a real option worth knowing about. Click & Haul is appointment-only, booked through the city’s portal, and billed to your utility account. The minimum is $72 per collection for up to 6 cubic yards — roughly two standard pickup beds. It takes furniture, appliances, mattresses and box springs, water heaters, fence panels, branches, yard waste and remodelling debris. A mattress can add a $30 fee depending on the size of the pile.

The exclusions are specific, and they are why people need a private hauler. Click & Haul will not take televisions, computer monitors, printers, laptops, DVD players, stereos or games consoles; no hazardous materials or liquids; no tires; no concrete or masonry demolition; and no dirt or sod.

The placement rules are strict too. Everything has to go on the street, entirely off your property, by 7 a.m. on the scheduled morning — not the yard, not the driveway, not the sidewalk — clear of branches and parked cars, and not set out more than 24 hours ahead. If the pile is in a back garden, up a flight of stairs, or a patio’s worth of broken concrete, none of that works.
