Junk removal in Commerce City
One of the better city programmes — and its ceiling
Commerce City residents do better than most of the metro here. Republic Services is the citywide hauler, and under the city waste and recycling programme single-family homes and duplexes get two 95-gallon carts at no additional cost — black lid collected weekly for trash, light blue lid every other week for recycling.
For bulky things there are three routes, and they are worth using before you call anyone: one free bulk pickup per quarter, with additional pickups at $16 each; the annual Neighborhood Curbside Cleanup Days, where the city is split into five areas each served on one of five Saturdays; and four free days a year at Tower Landfill, which is the one to save for a genuinely large load if you have a truck and a free Saturday.
Where that runs out is timing and scale. A quarterly slot does not help a closing date, a cleanup Saturday comes once a year for your area, and the landfill days need you to do the lifting and the driving. The heavier commercial side of Commerce City — warehouse clearing, pallets, scrap and equipment along the Vasquez corridor — sits outside the residential programme entirely.
Areas we hear from most
- Historic Commerce City — Older homes, garage clearouts, appliance and furniture removal.
- Reunion and Buffalo Run — Newer builds, furniture turnover, basement finishing debris.
- Industrial corridor along Vasquez — Warehouse clearing, pallets, scrap metal, equipment removal.
- Derby — Established residential with substantial long-term storage.
Commerce City in numbers

Commerce City pickups
Can a hauler clear a warehouse?
Yes: scrap metal, pallets, racking and equipment. Larger jobs get a site visit and a written quote.
Are recurring commercial pickups possible?
Yes. Ask about it in your request; billing terms are set by the hauler.
Can scrap metal go?
Yes, and metal has a recycling route rather than the landfill. Large volumes may affect the price in your favour.
